About the Job

As an Engineering Manager in the Sell Core Team, you will have the exclusive chance to lead initiatives that enhance existing components, optimize performance, and resolve customer-reported issues in our Sales Automation Software, Zendesk Sell. Drawing on your technical expertise and leadership skills, you will provide guidance and empower our team of skilled engineers.


From day one, your contributions will make a significant impact on Zendesk Sell. Collaborating closely with our global teams, primarily based in Pune, Maharashtra, India, you will work towards our common goals and vision, building lasting relationships with experienced engineers who are eager to learn from you as well.


What You'll Be Doing


  • Collaborating closely with teams across the globe to deliver exceptional results, with the majority of the team based in Pune


  • Growing and maturing the team, empowering them to take ownership of the codebase and lead end-to-end projects


  • Participating in all phases of the software lifecycle, including roadmap execution through liaison with leadership


  • Supervising successful progression of projects in our continuous integration environment, from development to deployment


  • Holding regular and transparent one-on-one meetings with your team members.


  • Providing caring and direct feedback to team members, helping them set and achieve specific goals to advance their careers


What You'll Bring to the Team


  • Proven experience in people management, with a track record of coaching and mentoring individual contributors


  • A passion for fostering a diverse and inclusive team culture


  • Experience leading SCRUM/Agile delivery teams


  • Excellent communication skills in English to collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams


  • Prior experience in a SaaS company


  • Experience with some technologies from our tech stack (see below).


Our Tech Stack


  • Our backend code is written in Java 17, Spring or SpringBoot 2.x, and Java ecosystem.


  • Our data is stored on Aurora, Elasticsearch, Redis, DynamoDB, S3, and is queued or streamed through RabbitMQ and Kafka.


  • Our workloads run on Kubernetes clusters hosted on AWS. We use various AWS services.
